Non-Driving Events

In addition to all of the Parade actives, competitive events and tours, we have a few more unique offerings available throughout Parade week. 

Registration for each of these events is required. Do so during Phase ll Registration, as we expect these to sell out quickly!

 

La Quinta History Walk

Daily - Monday, June 20 to Friday, June 23
10 – 11 AM
Please plan to meet in the Resort Lobby.
Limit of 16

Learn how the vision of the la Quinta Hotel (later the resort) came to be a reality and the man who had that vision.  Hear about the changes over the years (and the haunting around the resort) as you walk the property in the surrounding Santa Rosa Cove area, with a stop outside the Mountain/Dunes Clubhouse to take in the spectacular views of the golf course and surrounding Santa Rosa Mountains. Return to the fitness center after this 45-minute 2-mile walk. P

Please wear comfortable footwear and don’t forget your sunscreen and hat!

 

Palm Springs Air Museum – Offsite Dinner with bus transportation provided

Monday, June 19, from 6-10 PM
Bus transportation leaves promptly at 5:15 PM.

Join your fellow entrants for an exclusive event at the Palm Springs Air Museum on Monday, June 19. Bus transportation will be provided and depart from La Quinta Resort. The museum is home to one of the world’s largest collections of static & flyable aircraft from WWII through the War on Terror. Unlike many other museums, the air-conditioned hangars have no ropes to keep you from interacting with our exhibits. In addition to the aircraft, exhibits and activities allow visitors of all ages to gain a fresh perspective on the history of US Military operations over the last 100 years.

Entrants will enjoy an Italian-themed dinner with cash bars and plenty of time to explore the museum and all its exhibits.

 

Art Classes with PCA Porsche Parade Artist Kelly Telfer

Porsches and Prosecco: Wednesday, June 21 from 11AM - 12:30 PM
Porsches and Pinot: Wednesday, June 21 from 4 - 5:30 PM
Pre-registration is required, and there is a capacity of 30 painters for each class.
All classes will be in Las Brisas, located on the Plaza Upper Level. 

It's a painting party! Time to relax, laugh, and put it in neutral with PCA Porsche Parade artist Kelly Telfer. No judging here – every painting is a winner! Join your fellow enthusiasts for a guided art class – no experience necessary! We will provide the canvas, art supplies, and running commentary. A cash bar will be available for your Prosecco or Pinot purchases. Please select from two options during registration.

 

Beer Tasting featuring La Quinta Brewery
Wednesday, June 21
2 – 3 PM

Founded by a true desert native and former home brewer, La Quinta Brewing Co. is authentic to the laid-back desert lifestyle. La Quinta Brewing Company strives to bring locals and desert visitors superior craft beer with a fun, resort-style vibe uniquely found here in the desert.  You can sample beer in a unique setting, paired with soft pretzel bites and beer cheese dipping sauce. Selections may include up to three of these options: Poolside Blonde, Even Par IPA, Haboob Juicy IPA, Heatwave Amber Ale, Una Mas Por Favor Mexican Lager, and Koffi Porter.

 

Culinary Events

Join the hotel’s culinary chefs for a unique, behind-the-scenes cooking demonstration throughout the week.  You will have exclusive, behind-the-scenes access to the Resort’s culinary kitchen for these experiences! 

 

Homemade Pasta Class

Tuesday, June 20

This is a not demonstration from demonstration from "Nonna", Our Chefs will prepare you for the next special Italian Dinner you've always wanted to make. All guests will get to sample the pasta made in front of them and recipe cards will be shared. 

 

Sparkling Sensation

Thursday, June 22

1 – 2:30 PM

Limit of 30 people, a minimum of 15 is required for the event

Event will be held in Morgan’s Restaurant

Bubbles! Sip some spectacular sparkling wines in this instructor lead activity. Attendees will sample six 3 ounces of sparkling wines from around the world, served with food.

 

Sweet Summer Treats Demonstrated by our Executive Pastry Chef

Thursday, June 22
1 – 2 PM
Limit of 20

Entrants will learn about the dessert Ispahan- the components are Macarons, rose-flavored buttercream, lychees, and fresh raspberries. All the guests will get to sample dessert made in front of them, get recipe cards, and receive a sweet goodie bag as a takeaway.

 

Salsas, Guacamole & Margarita

Friday, June 23
1 – 2 PM
Limit of 20

Our Chef will demonstrate these Mexican Culinary delights with regional influence from his hometown in Mexico.  You’ll learn the basics of these dishes and ways to tweak your spice level! 

All entrants will get to sample the foods from the class and receive recipe cards and a special takeaway to remember this class.

 

Tequila Tasting

Tuesday, June 20

1 – 2:30 PM

Limit of 30 people, a minimum of 15 is required for the event

Event will be held in the private dining room of Adobe Restaurant.

Experience the most sacred beverage of Mexico: Tequila. Instructed by a Tequilier, attendees will taste five 1.5 ounces of Tequila, paired with food.
